The role of the SAITB

Timber construction companies in South Africa may now apply to become members of the newly formed South African Institute of Timber Builders SAITB with its head office in Somerset West, Cape Town and representatives in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern and Southern Cape. 

The South African Institute of Timber Builders (SAITB) aims to ensure a substantially larger timber construction representative body in SA to better serve its members, clients, consumers, and related businesses.

Become a member

Timber related industries or associations are invited to apply to become members or associate members. 
The benefits of being a member of SAITB are many and include:
  1. Establishing legitimacy for your business – belonging to an industry body where you have been subjected to strict inspections ensures your business is adhering to industry standards.
  2. The SAITB certificate of membership is recognised and asked for by institutions when clients apply for home loans, insurance etc.
